Light design for 70 years

Our values, our identity

Technological, modular lamps. Dynamic lamps. Essentiality of forms. Material or process research. Passionate and tenacious experimentation.

These are the values that have always set Martinelli Luce apart. Values that continue to guide our design philosophy. Those are the foundations created by the company's visionary creator, Elio Martinelli.

The inspiration, nature and geometry

Elio Martinelli's design mark has been passed down to the present day, owing to his intuitive sense of aesthetics and the allure of the Italian countryside.

The company loves the beauty of nature and the purity of geometric shapes in its design process. Profiles that imply harmony on the one hand and balance on the other.

This blend of natural and geometric components contained inside the physiognomy of a Martinelli Luce lamp provides an aesthetic language that is as refined as it is captivating, capable of arousing the beholder's imagination and emotions.

A welcoming and comforting soothing visual and tactile experience.

Martinelli Luce, the beginning

A world rich in history and values rooted in the company's DNA.

Founded in the 1950s,  a period buoyant with creative and constructive ferment, by Elio Martinelli, who transitioned from set design and interior design, Martinelli Luce began as a creative "laboratory" in Lucca, Tuscany, focused on developing geometric, essential forms inspired by nature and functionality. The company evolved from a workshop into a hub for technical experimentation, adopting innovative materials and manufacturing methods, maintaining its decorative and architectural identity while achieving high functional performance, simple shapes, and innovative material use.

International awards meet a unique style

For a brand to be counted among those that have made the history of design, it must possess some special elements. A unique and unquestionable signature trait; that particular style that not only makes people happy and impassions them, but that also brings them to visit museums throughout the world. Products such as the Cobra lamp by Elio Martinelli or Ruspa and Pipistrello by Gae Aulenti have been or are today present in world-renowned museums such as, for example, New York’s MoMa and the Triennale di Milano. Another element is the number of recognitions obtained in the course of the years, assigned by authoritative international organizations.
