The Serpente lamp has been relaunched in its orange finish, which represents vigor and optimism, in honor of its 60th anniversary. Orange in the 1960s symbolized the spirit of a time of experimentation and optimism about the future, a creative explosion that also found expression in design. Today, Serpente is once again covered by that same warm, brilliant shade, which brings with it the carefree, imaginative, and visionary spirit of those bygone eras: a celebration of bravery, inventiveness, and the enduring beauty of invention.
This version, which commemorates Serpente's 60th anniversary, is distinguished by the element that shuts the lamp construction. It features the Martinelli Luce logo and special graphics honoring 60 years of light, invention, and history. An element that conveys the tale of an icon that has been re-edited while being true to its core and Elio Martinelli's design vision, a detail that captures memory and contemporaneity.
The diffuser, which was produced by thermoforming and has a complex undercut, was made using specially made molds that were created internally. Likewise, a thorough technical analysis was conducted on the lamp's characteristic curvature, which was applied to both the floor and table variants.
